Repairs

We can help with repairs of all kinds including ring sizing, stone resetting, and soldering. Jewelry is sent to the repair shop in Albuquerque where we send our own personal jewelry, the shop’s jewelry and customers’ jewelry, for the past 39 years.  
It takes at least 2-3 months to be returned, but the work is excellent and the cost quite low.

 

Evaluation or Assessment

Katy can evaluate your authentic, handmade American Indian jewelry and pottery. There is a charge of $75 for the first hour and $50 thereafter. Assessment of collections can be evaluated for insurance purposes, for estate sales or to be sold on consignment
at Katy’s shop. 

 

Appointments need to be made for all assessments. Evaluations cannot be done during regular shop hours, so please email Katy at katy@shopkatys.com or call 608-251-5451 for an appointment.

 

Consignment

Once an item is researched and priced and consented to by the consignor, a form listing the items to be sold on consignment will be signed by both Katy and the owner. Items will be photographed and numbered and kept on file at the shop. Both consignor and Katy’s will retain a copy.

 

Once an item sells, the consignor will receive 50% of the retail price, within 4-6 weeks of the sale.  Consigned pieces can remain in the shop until they sell—there is no time limit.  

The consignor may take back any item for any reason at any time.

 

*There is also the fun option of exchanging or swapping your pieces for something you see in the shop.  Say goodbye to the old and hello to a dazzling new piece of jewelry to enhance and refresh your current collection!

 

Restringing

Neckwear can be restrung in house, but on a limited basis.  Difficult pieces will be sent to the Jewelry Repair Shop in Albuquerque.

 

Polishing / Buffing of silver jewelry

Small items such as rings, bracelets, earrings can be polished or buffed during business hours but NOT during sales or holidays. 

We offer excellent cleaning/polishing products—a liquid dip or a compact of small dry cloths—that both do an excellent job of polishing or shining your silver jewelry. Please limit the number of items for this service and please call before stopping in.
